As part of the Child Advocacy Center’s (CAC) 9th Annual Blue Ribbon Ride Against Child Abuse, community members are invited to attend the post-ride picnic. Scheduled for Sept. 8, the Blue Ribbon Ride picnic will be held at Wheel-A-Way Motorsports, Route 57 in Fulton.
The grant will enable the college to increase support services — especially in math and chemistry — and research opportunities for all science, technology, engineering and math majors, with a particular eye to helping younger students avoid academic disqualification, switches to non-STEM majors and other departures from science and math disciplines.
There will be a half dozen new faces at the Oswego Middle School complex this year.
Recently, Superintendent of Schools Bill Crist (left) welcomed the teachers as they participated in professional development and orientation at the Education Center.
Treating patients in Oswego Hospital’s emergency room requires a well-trained caring staff and in recent months, the department has hired five experienced registered nurses along with other staff, to complement the care already provided by the department.
Fall is just around the corner which means Oswego County farmers are busy harvesting their bounty of fruits, vegetables and meats. It also means planning is under way for the Third Annual Oswego County Harvest Dinner, which will take place on Oct. 12.
Budweiser International Classic Weekend continues on September 1 with Bud Light Night at the ‘Steel Palace’ as the Pathfinder Bank SBS Series, the ISMA Supermodifieds, and the ATQMRA TQ Midgets battle for Classic gold. Pit gates will open on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with warm-ups beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Jacob R. Wood, 35, of Syracuse, passed away Friday August 24, 2012, after a long illness.
