OSWEGO, NY – Paul A. Santore, 68, died Thursday September 13, 2012, in St. Joseph Hospital, Syracuse.
Paul was born in Oswego, the son of Angeline (Zappala) Santore and the late Carmen Santore.
Paul was employed with General Electric, Syracuse, in the management analysis department, and he was later plant manager for ARCOM Labs, Syracuse.
He served in the United States Army from 1961 until 1964.
Paul was the Oswego County Republican Committee Treasurer, Republican County Legislator for eight years, and the Republican City Chair for five years.
He was president of the Oswego County Salvation Army Board and communicant of St. Mary’s Church.
He was a member of Literacy Volunteers, Oswego County Veterans Museum, Oswego Library, and many more community organization.
In addition to his loving mother, Angeline Santore, Paul is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Judith Santore of Oswego; loving children, Paul (Karyn) Santore II of Hannibal, Lisa (Joseph) Miller of Kentucky, stepdaughters Virginia Haney of Macedon, Carolee Haney of Florida; sisters, Joanne (Michael) Segretto of Oswego, Jane (Paul) Santore Talbot of Baldwinsville, Marian (Steve) Bischof of Indiana; brother, Robert (Kate) Santore of East Syracuse; and beloved grandchildren, Christianna, Alyssa, Carmyn, Zachary, Dominique, Matthew, Paul and Mario.
Funeral services will be Monday 9 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Oswego where Rev. Richard Morisette will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Sunday 3 – 7 at the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home 147 W. Fourth St., Oswego.
Family request donation may be made to St. Mary’s Restoration Fund or the Oswego County Salvation Army.

Judy my deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family. Paul was a great guy he was always helping me and everybody eles. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Paul will never be forgotten may he rest in peace. When i read this i was in shocked because i didn’t know he was sick. God be with you Amen.
Will be sad not to see him corraling your little dog when we walk by with our much bigger lab. Always a kind word to us, and friendly smile. He will be missed in ‘the larger’ westside neighborhood! Sorry to read this.
