A study out last week reports that prescription drug abuse is on the rise. Thankfully this session we passed the I-STOP bill. This legislation creates the Internet System for Tracking Overprescribing (I-STOP) program. This is a “real-time” registry for doctors and pharmacists to track prescriptions.
The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau announces its 2012 schedule for the Traveling Arts in the Parks series. Each event is free and open to the public.
Conceived by AmeriCorps member Amanda McFarland, as her community service requirement, she recruited area youth and other youth organizations to work on the project.

The annual “Loop Around the Lake” is coming up soon, and registration is open to the public. This race is comprised of a 15 kilometer run, a 5 kilometer run, and a 5 kilometer walk.
