Ludwig Bemelmans will be the subject of “An Evening With Bemelmans” at Fort Ontario State Historic Site May 23, in the Enlisted Men’s Barracks.

Assemblyman Will Barclay worked with ARISE to have artwork on display that was published in UNIQUE, an Art and Literary Magazine that shares the artistic visions and voices of individuals with disabilities throughout the region.

Area Girl Scouts will be recognized at three ceremonies throughout the Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways, for earning the Girl Scout Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards. Ceremonies will take place in Geneva; Syracuse and Vestal.

The ceremony will honor those who have completed the community-leadership skills program, as well as Barbara Bateman, this year’s Community Leadership Award winner, and 2001 program alumnus Richard DenBleyker with the Distinguished Alumni Award.

The Fulton Boys’ Lacrosse Program will host chicken barbecue on May 20. The hours will be 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (or until dinners are sold out). It will be held at the pole barn at the Polish Home in Fulton.

For several years, the Rotarians have cleaned the public areas from Phillips Street to Recreation Park each spring and fall. Various groups and citizens throughout the city of Fulton participated in Mayberry Day, the first Saturday in May each year.
