Breakfast To Benefit Stuff-A-Bus

The Clubhouse Tavern, 126 W. Second St., Oswego, will host a special breakfast on July 30 to benefit the United Way’s Stuff-A-Bus campaign. From left are planning committee members John Kelly, Mary Lou Ferguson, Laurie Kelly, Robert McGrath, Jim Schneider, Melanie Trexler, and co-chair Dan Dorsey.

Sponsored by Wiltsie Construction and The Clubhouse Tavern and coordinated by a committee co-chaired by Dan and Liz Dorsey of Eagle Beverage, the breakfast is available free of charge and is open to the public.

Fort Ontario Announces Harborfest 2011 Activities

Radio controlled airplanes will soar over Fort Ontario during Harborfest Weekend 2011. Kids can try their hand at being an RC airplane pilot with skilled instructors.

During Harborfest Weekend 2011 Fort Ontario State Historic Site will host a Civil War encampment, radio-controlled airplane show, and children’s battle reenactments and marching drills.

Burritt Motors Revs Up Catholic Charities’ Volleyball Tournament

At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary Club meeting,  President Peggy Donnelly presented a donation on behalf of the club, to Nancy Fox, right, and Krissy Cook, left,  for the CNY Arts Center that Fox is promoting  for the Fulton area. Donor Supports Oswego YMCA

Recently, the Oswego YMCA recieved a donation from Navy Veteran Jim Harbison for $10,000.00 to support Oswego Y programs. Harbison, an Oswego native, is a Navy Veteran having served in WWII believes "helping your community is important and I just want to help where I can."  At the Oswego  Y, strengthening community is our cause~Mr. Harbison's generous donation helps the Y do just that.   Every day we work side by side with neighbors in our community to make sure everyone, regardless of age, income or background has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Paper Buses Support School Supply Drive

Shawn Seale of the Oswego Branch of Key Bank purchases a paper bus from Executive Director of the United Way, Melanie Trexler (left) and United Way board member and chair of the Stuff-A-Bus campaign Jo Ann Conzone of the Oswego City School District. Key Bank is supporting the campaign by selling paper buses at all of its Oswego County locations.

In an effort to support the United Way Stuff-A-Bus campaign, area businesses will be selling paper buses to help raise money to purchase school supplies for students in Oswego County who are in need for the upcoming school year.
