In honor of National Mentoring Month, Catholic Charities of Oswego County recently recognized Entergy Nuclear, James A. FitzPatrick Power Plant, for its support of the CYO Mentoring Program.

The United Way of Greater Oswego County recently presented Oswego County Opportunities with a Certificate of Recognition in honor of the agency’s Leadership and Commitment to United Way’s Annual Campaign.

Oswego Middle School String Orchestra was well represented at the annual All-County Orchestra Festival at G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton. The students performed with other student musicians on March 18-19.

Little Lukes Childcare staff will be having fun with Autism Awareness this April as an official sponsor of the upcoming “Family Fun Walk For Autism.” It will take place on April 30 at Leighton Elementary School and the Wilber Track and Field from 11a.m. to 2 p.m.

Mark McManus is a lucky man. He beat colorectal cancer and is fortunate to be able to talk about his experience. “If sharing my story inspires even one person to be screened for colorectal cancer it will be worth it,” he said.

Then they asked the board to avoid making cuts that would stop their music.

The Oswego High School and Oswego Middle School Orchestra Concert is scheduled for Friday, March 25, at the Oswego High School Ralph M. Faust Theatre for the Performing Arts. This is an outstanding musical event and recently OMS Orchestra Director Deb Mazurek rehearsed with her students in preparation for the concert.
