Members of the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce were on hand to celebrate the first year anniversary of Ellen Ladd, EA Tax & Financial Services with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance began accepting HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program) applications November 3. The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program is a federally funded program administered by the state that assists eligible households in meeting their home energy needs. HEAP has helped millions across the country pay for costly utility bills. This year, Congress approved $476 million for New York to be able to assist with these costsâ€â€Â$120 million more than last year.
Cooperation: To work together, help others willingly, agree and follow direction… It’s the right way for students at Michael A. Maroun Elementary School in Phoenix. Throughout the school year, K-2 Elementary Principal Mary Stanton presents an assembly on the character trait of the month to bring home the message of good strong moral character which helps instill good behavior in school and good citizenship in the community.
Granby Elementary School in Fulton, has received a $500 grant from the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance program to support the school’s science programs.
Student teams designed and built balsa wood bridges in the Kenney Middle School technology education classrooms under the direction of technology teacher Robert Jones and Greg Bailey.
As part of their Zoo to You program, Rosamond Gifford Zoo brought some of their animals to OCB. Zoo to You is a traveling educational program that visits a variety of venues, such as schools, libraries, community centers, senior housing and day-care centers to provide an interactive, hands-on learning experience.
