Ex-Drug Vehicle Refurbished As City’s ‘DARE Car’

Mayor Billy Barlow. is proud to announce that the Oswego City Police Department has designated a “DARE Car” for use by the department in delivering the DARE curriculum to schools in and around the city of Oswego. The vehicle, a 2014 Jeep Wrangler, was forfeited to the Oswego City Police Department through the Oswego County District Attorney’s Office as the result of a guilty conviction stemming from a recent illegal drug case.

Oswego Pair Facing Felony Drug Charges

On Tuesday September 25, at approximately 3:19 p.m., investigators with the Oswego County Drug Task Force, in conjunction with the Oswego City Police Department, executed a narcotics related search warrant on a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt, and its occupants, as it traveled northbound on State Route 481 within the city of Oswego. As a result of the search warrant executions, approximately 14.2 grams of crack cocaine was located and seized, according to police. Two people were charged.

Second West Monroe Victim Dies

The second victim in a previously reported death that occurred at 347 Brecheimer Road in the town of West Monroe on Monday, September 10, has died, the Sheriff’s Office reported today (September 25). Michael P. Shane, 59, of 451 County Route 11, lot 31, West Monroe, died earlier today (09/25/2018) as a result of injuries suffered in this incident, police said.
