The attorney for the Maxwell family says while his clients continue to be cooperative with police in the investigation into the death of 11-year-old Erin Maxwell, there has been little reciprocation. While the family maintains the child’s death was a tragic accident, police continue to investigate her death as a homicide. More than a month after her death, no arrests have been made in the case.

Report Details Maxwell Investigations

Originally prepared for Oswego County Legislature Chairman Barry Leemann, the report provided information about three separate investigations that were launched over a three-year span between 2003 and 2006. DSS Commissioner Frances Lanigan says that another investigation is underway.

County Releases Social Services Report On Maxwell Investigations

BREAKING: This afternoon, Oswego County released its report of the Department of Social Services’ involvement with Erin Maxwell’s family, relative to allegations of abuse and neglect. Specifically, the report addresses three separate investigations that were launched at the Maxwell home between 2003 and 2006. Father Fuming Over Lack of Notice

Fajo Edwards’ father says his family had no idea that Audrey Arnold, the woman convicted this year of causing severe injuries to his son in 2006, was released from the Oswego County jail earlier this month. Now Elroy Edwards says he wants to know why. Undersheriff Robert Lighthall says victim notification is not part of the parole board’s requirements for the local condition release program. He noted, too, that Arnold is only the third inmate to receive local conditional release in Oswego County since 2005.

Arnold Granted Conditional Release

A former daycare provider who was convicted of endangering the welfare of a child earlier this year has been released from the Oswego County jail. Audrey Arnold, who was found guilty March 31 after a four-day trial, was sentenced to serve one year in jail June 3; convicted of causing injuries to Fajo Edward while he was in her care May 31, 2006. The child’s parents say they were not aware that Arnold had been released, nor were they notified that she was being considered for release.

Oswego Hospital Awarded $14.4 Million in HEAL NY Funds

Oswego Hospital learned Tuesday it has been awarded $14.4 million in grant funds that enable the health care facility to make improvements to several key hospital departments in order to support the future healthcare needs of residents in Oswego County. The funding, called HEAL NY (Healthcare Efficiency and Affordability Law for New Yorkers) is designated to meet the mandates of the Commission on Health Care Facilities in the 21st Century.
