Police: Liverpool Man Abducts, Robs and Sexually Assaults Woman

Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Thursday an Oswego County woman was attempting to make a right turn onto John Glenn Blvd from northbound Oswego Road when her vehicle struck a pedestrian at the intersection. She attempted to get out to check on him; he forced her door shut and proceeded to jump in the back seat of her vehicle, police said today (May 13). Once inside the vehicle, the male claimed he was armed, demanded money and forced her to drive him to a nearby apartment complex parking lot where he proceeded to sexually assault her, according to the police report.

Deputies Identify Victim from Fatal Motorcycle Accident

Deputies investigating the accident say the driver of the 2012 Kia SUV, Jaymie Gerlach, 35, of State Route 49, Oswego, was attempted to make a left turn onto Crabtree Lane from northbound Brewerton Road when she drove into the path of a southbound Harley Davidson motorcycle being operated by 51-year-old James Hotchkiss of Daphne Drive, North Syracuse. Hotchkiss’ motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the SUV, throwing him from his motorcycle.

County Honors Retiring 9-1-1 Director, Approves Successor

The past, present and future of the county’s 9-1-1 department gathered at this week’s legislature meeting. Mike Allen started working for the county employed by the Highway Department in a summer job. From there, he worked at the landfill, then the energy recovery facility and then the Central Services Department. And finally, 9-1-1. He moved up through the ranks and became director. The person he succeeded, the county’s first 9-1-1 director, Robert Hayes Sr., is currently the legislator representing District 10. Hayes and his fellow legislators recognized Allen on his retirement. The legislators approved Kevin Pooley of Hastings as the new 9-1-1 director.

Traffic Stop In Syracuse Leads To Drug Possession Charges

State Police arrested passengers Tiffany L. Rothrock, 33, from 52 Kingdom Road, Oswego, and Edward J. Baker Jr., 38, from 122 Dickerson St., Syracuse, on several drug possession charges following traffic stop. On Thursday (May 11), State Police stopped a vehicle on Butternut Street in the city of Syracuse for a traffic violation.
