A procession of DIRTcar Racing race cars will take to the streets of Oswego, with a police escort, to officially kick off NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week on Wednesday at noon. As many as 50 Big-Block Modifieds, 358-Modifieds, Sportsman Modifieds and Pro Stocks will leave two-by-two from Gate 6 at Oswego Speedway.
Snickers is a pretty muted calico tortie with an impish personality. She’ll play with people, just not “up close.” So, laser pointers and fishing pole type toys are her favorites. She happily sleeps with the other cats in her foster home and plays with them, too.

Karl Haist of Clarence Center, NY, returned to the champion’s podium in a big way Saturday at the Great Pumpkin fest. His pumpkin weighed in at just less than one ton. And, it was more than 500 pounds heavier than the runner-up.

Sixteen students from around the county became the newest members of Oswego County’s Youth Court on Tuesday night. Oswego County Family Court Judge Kim Seager administered the oath at the Oswego County Courthouse on Oneida Street as members of the graduates’ families looked on, many of them taking photographs.

On Tuesday (September 27), members of the Fulton Police Department located an alleged methamphetamine lab in a wooded area adjacent to West Seventh Street North in the town of Granby. Police were called to the area after a report was made about a suspicious man entering the woods.
State Senator Patty Ritchie announced today (Sept. 28) she has secured $36,000 to help support music and arts programs in schools across Central and Northern New York. “When schools are forced to make budget cuts, often times it’s the music and arts programs that are among the first to go,” said Senator Ritchie.
