Two Mexico residents were charged with Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine earlier today following a traffic stop near City Line Road In Oswego and a search of a Mexico residence.

By a unanimous vote Monday night, the Oswego Common Council approved granting preferred developer status to Tony Pauldine in regard to the Cahill building. The local developer’s commitment to preserve the historic Port City landmark helped sway the council’s vote.

On various days this summer, and into this month, Ted Panayotoff, of the Oswego Lighthouse Committee, leads a group on the approximately 1.5-mile jaunt by boat from the Maritime Museum out to Oswego’s iconic West Pierhead Lighthouse. Ultimately, the plan is to not only save the landmark, but open it up to visitors. They began interior restorations, using volunteers, in 2013.
