Bishop Cunningham Visits Trinity Catholic School

 Bishop Robert J. Cunningham chats with students at Trinity Catholic School on Thursday.Bishop Robert J. Cunningham paid a visit Thursday to Oswego County’s only Catholic school. The children asked the bishop all sorts of questions, including “What’s it like being the bishop?” At the end of his visit, the bishop enjoyed an ice cream sundae with the youngsters. The Diocese of Syracuse is comprised of 22 schools in its seven-county area with more than 5,000 students Pre-K-12.

Feasibility Study: Children’s Museum Is A Darn Good Idea

Dr. West explains to the crowd why the CMOO is such a good project for the Oswego County regionDr. Robert “Mac” West, of Informal Learning Experiences in Denver, conducted a feasibility study regarding the plan to create a children’s museum in the Port City. “It’s a fantastic project,” he said. As the group moves forward, two of its biggest challenges are going to be the cost and finding a location, he pointed out. Organizers of the year-old project are heartened by the strong community support they have received so far.

OHS Army All-Americans Recognized By Oswego School Board

Cassandra Hondro, second from left, and Emily King are recognized by Kathleen Allen, board president, and Superintendent Ben Halsey.At its last meeting, the Oswego City School District Board of Education congratulated the two Oswego High School U.S. Army All-American musicians who were chosen to perform in San Antonio, Texas. They were the only two musicians from the entire state to participate in this elite marching band. Cassandra Hondro and Emily King were presented certificates of recognition during the recent board meeting
