The new pact covers the years 2013 through 2017. Members won’t receive salary adjustments in 2013 or 2014. In 2015, they will receive a one-time lump sum of $1,000 for full-time workers and $500 for part-timers. Raises (2 percent) for union members will kick in for 2016 and 2017.

The annual Senior Health and Wellness Fair featured more than 50 exhibitors, a free lunch (provided by students from BOCES) and entertainment by the area band “Anybody’s Guess.” These types of outreach events help put people in touch with the services they need, according to State Senator Patty Ritchie. At the event, she announced Louise Kellogg as the winner of the Oswego County “Senior of the Year” award for 2013.
Oswego County Clerk Michael Backus today joined several other clerks in New York State calling on Governor Cuomo and Department of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Barbara Fiala to immediately suspend fees related to veterans seeking identification on a driver’s license. There will be a fundraiser Oct. 13 for Ed Hoffman, a retired Fulton police officer who lost his battle with cancer last month. The fundraiser, an all-you-can-eat chicken and pasta dinner, will be held at Thunder Island Oasis, 21 Wilcox Road, Fulton, from 1 to 5 p.m. A memorial service for the former Fulton resident will be held at Holy Trinity Parish on October 14 at 9:30 a.m.

At Tuesday’s school board meeting, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Cathy Chamberlain and the district’s Director of Mathematics Carrie Plasse presented a program on the implementation of the mathematics modules within the district in hopes of providing information and reducing the level of stress for everyone.
