Specialist Brett E. Gornewicz from Alden, Specialist Ryan P. Jayne from Campbell, and Staff Sgt. Dain T. Venne, from Port Henry, died of wounds suffered when their humvee was struck by an improvised explosive device. The three men were assigned to the 444th Engineer Company which is headquartered in Oswego.
The candidate for state senate also believes it is time to raise the minimum wage and is “a big proponent of campaign finance reform so that we can attract qualified candidates from our citizenry.”
“Many people thought Albany was broken, that taxes could only go up and that things could only get worse. But, in the past two years we have started to see a change – and that’s something that I’m proud to be a part of. Now, Democrats and Republicans are working together, and we’re getting real results,” she said.
