On April 3, 1994, Heidi Allen went missing from the convenience store at the intersection of Route 104 and 104B in New Haven. Authorities say she was kidnapped by a couple of local brothers and is presumed dead. Lisa Buske said she revealed the cover as a birthday gift to her sister, “and what better place than here at the remembrance garden.”
Cayuga Community College hosted a dedication and ribbon cutting Friday to celebrate the completion of construction at its new Fulton Campus at River Glen. The abuse of bath salts and other synthetic drugs is on the rise in the Oswego area. In response to this developing trend, the Upstate Poison Control Center of Syracuse will offer a free educational seminar, open to the public, to educate the Oswego community on this epidemic.
At its meeting Thursday night, the Oswego County Legislature approved four local laws regarding synthetic drugs. The majority of speakers at the public hearing were in favor of getting rid of these substances. One person spoke in favor of synthetic marijuana. Cigarettes and alcohol were just as dangerous, if not more so, he told the legislators.

The 23-year-old Oswego native died Sept. 2 in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, the result of “a non-combat related incident.” Tuesday night, people lined both sides of the street for blocks to pay their respects as the hearse carrying his body brought him home again.
