Temperatures linger around the freezing mark and there is a chance of freezing drizzle. However, that will have no affect on Santa’s Christmas Eve sojourn. A white Christmas this year is as certain as a visit from the Jolly Old Elf.
Oswego Town and the city of Oswego have differing views concerning the ambulance contract between the two municipalities. In a statement today (Dec. 23) to the media, the town board said the contract is intact through Dec. 31, 2012. However, the mayor points out the town supervisor sent a letter to the city giving official notification that they wanted to cancel the contract. He says it will expire Dec. 31, 2010.
He reportedly got physical with a female student. An internal investigation is under way and Oswego police are looking into the matter as well.

It was also more than 2.50 inches wetter than normal. Snowfall has lagged behind for the season as well. Fall was a windy season – with the greatest wind speeds clocked at more than 65 mph.
To celebrate Oswego Hospital’s complete renovation of its emergency room, the region’s gateway for the treatment of serious illness and injuries, the healthcare facility held a brief ribbon cutting ceremony today (Dec. 22). Oswego Hospital offers the only emergency room in Oswego County.

Nearly 100 Oswego High School science students got a first-hand look at the super high-tech flatbed-mounted Doppler radar units.
The Oswego School Board will present its trimmed down version of the 2011-12 draft budget to the administration by the end of the week. According to board vice president John Dunsmoor, chair of the BOE’s finance committee, the tentative budget might include a two percent tax levy increase.
