Oswego Agrees To Pay Fine Regarding OFD

At its meeting Monday night, the Common Council agreed to the Stipulation and Order set forth by the NYS Department of Health Bureau of Emergency Medical Services regarding violations by the city’s fire department. The state mandated the city pay a $10,000 fine for those violations – $8,000 will be suspended if the department doesn’t violate any other laws.

City: All Residents Must Vacate Roach-Infested Building

All of the residents at 38-40 W. Third St. must be out of the building by Sept. 30, the Common Council said Monday night. Officials were looking at residents of just one apartment; however, they decided Monday night that everyone must move out of the premises to safely perform a thorough extermination of the bugs.

Annual Cow Chip Bingo Supports Lions’ Scholarship

The winner of the annual “Cow Chip Bingo” said she will use the winnings to purchase some new clothes for her new job. The proceeds from the event will be used to support an annual scholarship in the memory of Harold “H” Dowd, a Fulton Lions Club member who passed away in September 2005.
