A mock space ship crash was conducted at the Oswego Maritime Foundation to create a buzz about the upcoming Squonk Opera’s Astro-Rama on the SUNY Oswego campus from Oct. 2 to 5 at 8 p.m.
Farnham Family Services partnered with Oswego Speedway and various others to bring an evening of fun for the entire family to the Port City.
Annual event celebrates creations of more than a dozen area restaurants and other businesses. “If you leave here hungry, it’s your own fault,” one visitor exclaimed.
The organization was formed in 2002 to honor the local men who fought in the Battle of the Bulge and keep alive the memories of those who made the ultimate sacrifice, according to chairman John Canale. He describes the members of the group as “patriots” and “heroes.”
“Students displayed looks of interest, anxiety, eagerness and satisfaction while the teachers and staff showed looks of expectation and focus. The school year is cruising from the pier – full steam ahead!†said Oswego Acting Superintendent of Schools Bill Crist.
