The experiences of Sea Grant representatives recently returned from educational outreach travel to American Samoa and Japan are expected to benefit the anticipated announcement of freshwater marine sanctuaries in New York’s Great Lakes region and coastal interests in the marine district of the state.
For 31 years, the Zonta Club of Oswego has presented its prestigious Ameila Earhart Woman of Achievement Award to a woman who has dedicated herself to her community and who serves as a role model for young women. This year, Cheryl Rogers will be the award winner at the 32nd annual Amelia Earhart Woman of Achievement Dinner, which will be held on September 23 at the American Foundry in Oswego.
St. Francis Commons Assisted Living Residence in Oswego will host a workshop by the Alzheimer’s Association entitled, “Legal and Financial Planning” on August 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. This educational workshop is free of charge and open to the public.
Inspirational gospel singer Sherry Anne will sing and share the story of her journey as a child with a bilateral hearing and speech impairment to a singer with an authentic and powerful voice to United Baptist Church at 5111 State Route 104 East in a 7 p.m. concert on August 11.
A six-week long science program has been in session since July 5 for kids in Oswego, Fulton and Phoenix. These one-hour long sessions on Tuesdays have taken place at the public libraries in each town.
Pulaski Assembly of God has changed its name. It’s now called Grace Point. It is located at 228 County Route 62.
The Oswego County 4-H Program would like to thank the community for all of its support with the recent Third Annual Fabric Sale, a fundraiser for the local 4-H Program, held at Believer’s Chapel in Mexico.
Golfers in the 19th Annual St. Luke-Francis Boyce Memorial Charity Tournament will be taking a swing at $20,000 during a hole-in-one contest, thanks to The Bonadio Group. The event tees off with an 8 a.m. “shot gun” start on August 13 at Battle Island State Park in Fulton.
Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District will host its annual “Stuff-A-Bus” school supply distribution to students on August 26 from 9 a.m. to noon. The district will also have a bottle and can drive from August 8 to 12 to raise funds for the purchase of school supplies.
