Reading teacher Veronica Williams walked into a Morning Express program at the school dressed in tropical attire and a camera around her neck as she gave students one simple message: reading can take you anywhere.
Everyone has heard a story about, ‘the fish that got away’, but for one resident from Michaud Residential Health Services in Fulton who joined his fellow anglers during a trip to Bullhead Point, he has the story and the pictures to show off his catch.
Hard work has paid off for several Migrant Education Tutorial & Support Services Program participants. Seven students from throughout Oswego, Wayne and Lewis counties overcame lingual and academic challenges to graduate high school in the coming weeks.
Volney students celebrated Flag Day by honoring former Fulton City School District student and U.S. Army Spc. Matt Digby during a special ceremony on June 14. Members of the student body and staff stood alongside guests around the school’s flag pole as Principal Todd Terpening offered opening remarks and Father Moritz Fuchs gave an invocation.
Pharmacist Jamie Branshaw, RPh, from Wayne Drugs in Oswego will offer a presentation entitled; “Know Your Medications,” co-sponsored by the Oswego County Office for the Aging and Bishop’s Commons on July 12 beginning at 7 p.m.
All of the students wore red, white and blue shirts, streamers and hats. Some students wore Boy and Girl Scout uniforms and were able to come up on stage for the Pledge of Allegiance and the folding of the flag.
Students of Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Elementary School celebrated Flag Day with pride by participating in a flag-folding ceremony, performing an instrumental version of the “Star-Spangled Banner” and walking in a parade of nations.
Students at Hastings-Mallory Elementary School are ready to bFit. The namesake show, hosted by Brian Richards, came to HME to teach students about caring for their bodies with exercise and healthy foods.
Teachers who are new to Fulton schools have been encouraged to participate in a 36-hour course aimed to help strengthen their teaching skills and become immersed in the Fulton City School District culture.
