The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District will bring a ‘no additional tax impact’ $4 million capital project to vote on September 6 at the APW Junior-Senior High School. An open public information meeting is being held on August 25 at 6 p.m. in the dining room of the APW Junior-Senior High School.
Nearly 100 Dennis M. Kenney Middle School students were honored during a recent ceremony celebrating academic achievement, improvement and overall contributions to the Hannibal Central School District. Middle school teachers, administrators and staff members applauded the honorees, which included students in fifth through eighth grades.
Participants in SUNY Oswego’s summer English Immersion Program made a visit to Bishop’s Commons Enriched Housing Residence in Oswego for a chance to practice their language skills with seniors. Students traveled to Oswego to participate in the program from as far away as Turkey, Thailand, and European, Caribbean and South America countries.
Hannibal middle school students recently showcased their knowledge and presented some of their class work during the annual Cruizin’ Kenney event. The event provides an opportunity for students to show their friends and family members what they learned throughout the school year.
Fifth graders of Central Square Intermediate School received accolades at a fifth grade awards ceremony. Presidential Awards for Academic Excellence were distributed to students by teacher recommendation.
The third grade wing at Fairley Elementary school recently transformed into an international experience as part of cultural night. Each class studied the history and traditions of a particular country.
The Lacona Farmers’ Market is open every Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. It is located on the corner of Harwood Drive and Maple Ave.
Graduating seniors earned thousands of dollars in scholarships and other honors for perfect attendance, achievement in specialty subjects, excellence in athletics and scholastic success. High School Principal Stephen Dunn applauded the students’ efforts and praised them for their accomplishments.
As Hannibal High School’s Class of 2016 celebrated its accomplishments during the June 24 graduation ceremony, the valedictorian and salutatorian reflected on their time in the school district.
Carley Mills Cemetery Association will hold its annual rummage sale and chicken BBQ. The rummage sale will be held July 15 and 16 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. The chicken BBQ will be only on the 16th from noon – 4 p.m.
