Pulaski Middle School students selected eighth grade social studies teacher Jordan Fahnestock as the 2015 Middle School Educator of the Year. While Fahnestock earned the most votes, every teacher in the middle school received at least one vote, according to Jill Truax, teacher and student government association adviser.
The agenda of the June 18 Living with the Ever-Changing Lake Ontario Dunes Public Information Workshop includes a lightning round of information stations at the Selkirk Shores State Park Pavilion. The celebration day serves as a reward to the students for all of their hard work throughout the year. The day is complete with fun outdoor games, competitions and face painting.
The Fulton Youth Team Tennis League will start accepting registrations for players ages 13-19. Players are assigned to a team for six regular matches, a semi-final match and championships.

Hard work in the classroom paid dividends for dozens of Hannibal High School students who were recognized during a year-end awards ceremony. The Lockwood Auditorium was bustling with excitement as teachers, faculty, community members and families congratulated students on their accomplishments.
After announcing the top readers during a morning assembly, the top 14 participants in the Accelerated Readers program gathered outside with Principal Jean Ciesla and school librarian Barb Senecal and were treated to pizza and ice cream.
Seniors enrolled in the Public Safety and Justice program at the Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation were recently saluted for their efforts during a year-end recognition ceremony. Throughout the school year, teachers Jim Garcia, Charles Gabriel and Mark Bender taught the students law enforcement, firefighting and EMS skills as part of hands-on learning.
