Fulton’s Next CDEP In The Works

The FCSD Comprehensive District Education Plan Committee met recently at a planning workshop to discuss district goals and student achievement for the next three years. According the school website, “The FCSD CDEP plan coordinates the district instructional programs, curricula, assessments, grant supported programs and policies and procedures toward the goal of ensuring student mastery of the NYS learning standards.” The current CDEP will conclude at the end of this June.

Students at Dillon Middle School recently spearheaded a food drive to benefit the Oswego County Animal Welfare League. The idea sprung out of a discussion among EJD Student Council members who were considering different projects that could positively affect the community. After hearing stories about local pets being abandoned, abused and malnourished, the students wanted to do something to help.

Seasoned Bodley Seniors Gear Up for Last Performance, ‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’

Kaitlyn Kinney, Kennedie Coyne, Lexi Abelgore and Katie Salmansen have been involved with Quirk’s Players (the Fulton student theater group) for the majority of their high school career. Now, after numerous productions, the four seniors will give their last performance in “Thoroughly Modern Millie” this March. Community members may remember these girls from previous performances like “Curtains,” “Hello, Dolly” or “Damn Yankees.”

Phoenix Teachers Show Love to Golisano Children on Valentine’s

Michael A Maroun Elementary teachers joined together in purchasing and assembling goodie bags for the cancer unit at Golisano Children’s Hospital for Valentine’s Day. Guidance counselor Nora Germain said she was overwhelmed by the generosity of the MAM staff. The first grade alone donated $130 to the cause.
