John C. Birdlebough Chorus Performs In Costume

John C Birdlebough High School Concert Chorus performed in costume at its Fall Choral Concert. The concert theme was “Movie Music,” and the chorus sang songs from “Alice in Wonderland,” “Harry Potter” and “The Wizard of Oz.” To further the fun and fantasy of the songs, each member of the chorus dressed up in costume as a character from a movie.

The Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation had its Career and Technical Education open house recently and the students put on quite the show. The culinary program went all out providing several food demonstrations and tastings like “Knife Sharpening and Honing” and “Fabricating Chicken.” The smell of cookies drew families in from the hallways.

Art Students Paint From Life In The Adirondacks

Students in Martin Scoville’s Advanced Drawing and Painting classes at Sandy Creek High School took a recent field trip to Old Forge where they drew inspiration from nature. Prior to the field trip, the students studied the water colors of Winslow Homer, who worked in the Adirondack Mountains during a period of his life and painted many works during that time.
