The St. Paul’s Girls Travel Basketball program has announced its open tryout schedule for the upcoming season. The program is again assembling one 5th and 6th grade team and two 7th and 8th grade teams. Each team generally consists of 9-12 players from Oswego County school districts. The teams practice 2-3 nights per week and play in 12-15 tournaments October through March.

Many teachers and staff were recognized for their 15 to 40 years of service with the Phoenix Central School District on Faculty and Staff Opening Day, Sept. 2. Superintendent Judy Belfield awarded pins of recognition to each of the 53 employees as they approached the front of the auditorium. If all the years of dedication from these staff members were added together, it would equal 995 years.
A Community Garage Sale will be held at Bullhead Point Pavilion on September 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

New kindergarteners at Fairley Elementary started their educational journey with an ice cream social on Aug 28. Parents and children first gathered outside for an introduction to the Hannibal Central School District transportation system. Children with no previous bus experience had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with a school bus as they rode for the first time.
