Students were once again eager to bring their parents to the yearly Sandy Creek Middle and High School Open House to introduce them to their teachers and show them what a day in middle/high school looks like.

Attendance was no issue at the Fulton City School District’s Attendance Awareness Celebration on Sept. 14, in honor of Attendance Awareness Month. A multitude of children and families attended the event. Local organizations such as ARISE and the Oswego County Health Department set up interactive booths for the children.

Hannibal Central School District’s Dennis M. Kenney Middle School open house Thursday proved to be a success, as students, parents and teachers gathered to discuss the coming year. With approximately 450 students enrolled at DMK, the event was well attended, something Principal Dee Froio noted as being “incredibly important.”

The Oswego Players proudly present the second Detective LaFleur Mystery called Firesign. There will only be two performances at the Church Of The Resurrection on October 17 and 18.

Recently Cadette Girl Scouts from troop 10461 scraped and painted the picket fence around the grave of Dr. Mary Walker in the Rural Cemetery. Many parents and siblings helped. Our troop is committed to doing community service projects.

State Street united Methodist Church will host a rummage sale on October 2, 3 and 4. The hours will be from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Granby Elementary School students were anything but blue when singer-songwriter and motivational speaker Jared Campbell stopped by to present the Blue Project. The cafeteria was abuzz with excitement recently as he entertained students during two separate assemblies that focused on the importance of respect, friendship and kindness.

Students at Michael A. Maroun Elementary School kicked off the school year with an assembly that promoted positive behavioral traits. The Show of Love, presented by Joe Trionfero, was an infusion of music with kindness as the overarching theme.
