The Oswego Children’s Theater’s latest production, “Shrek the Musical,” is a family affair in a couple of ways. First, it tells the story of two young people abandoned by their families; but OCT’s production of the show involves families in quite another way, in that many members of the cast and crew are related to each other.

Special guests from various professions filled both the primary and intermediate wings at Granby. There were police officers, a flight attendant and pilot, hair stylist, judge, nurse, farmer, business owner, athletic trainer, ballet teacher, massage therapist, safety trainer and banker.

Twenty-two students from Phoenix’s Emerson J. Dillon Middle School finished the school year earning distinguished honors from the school’s chapter of the National Junior Honor Society.

APW students discovered that there are many different types of insects; could identify and describe the three main body parts of insects: the head, thorax, and abdomen; and also learned about such things as exoskeletons, metamorphosis, and molting.

Surrounded by a standing-room-only crowd of friends and family members, Oswego County BOCES Career and Technical Education students were recently recognized for their commitment to their schoolwork and for their exemplary citizenship and service outside of the classroom.

Twenty-eight New York Dairy Leaders will graduate at Empire Farm Days on August 6 at 1:30 p.m. hosted by the Empire Farm Days Dairy Profit Seminar Center at the Northeast’s largest outdoor farm show at Rodman Lott and Son Farms in Seneca Falls.

Using the knowledge acquired in Dan Mainville’s global environment course at G. Ray Bodley High School, 11 students recently showcased their research at an environmental summit sponsored by SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
