Fourth graders at Lanigan Elementary School recently built on their classroom studies of geography and water navigation by getting a first-hand look at the lock system along the Oswego River.

Several members of the Sandy Creek Varsity Volleyball team were recognized for outstanding athletic achievement. The team is coached by Dorianne Hathway.

Members of the True Beauty Club at Sandy Creek High School recently held a suicide awareness day at the school. The students had a table set up with information about teen depression and suicide prevention.

Recently at the New York state track and field championships at Cicero North Syracuse High School, Pulaski High School track and field team member Breann Burns ran the 100 meter hurdles in 14.30 seconds, smashing a 27-year-old Section III record by nine-tenths of a second.

Middle School Student Council members at Sandy Creek Middle School made very special “cancer care packages” that will be distributed to patients undergoing treatment at St. Joseph’s Hospital Hematology/Oncology Association of Central New York.

The Lura Sharp Elementary School auditorium was a sea of red, white and blue as some classes constructed their own versions of patriotic attire and others chose from their own “flag day” wardrobe.

The Pulaski Senior High School Concert Band presented an instrumental music concert, directed by Jack Jennings recently. The final band concert for the school year, the musicians presented an outstanding show for their final high school performance.
