Beginning this Friday and lasting 16 hours from sun-up to sunset, the Bishop’s Commons team will participate in a variety of activities ranging from walking, dancing, riding a stationary to reading a favorite book; all taking place continuously in an effort to raise both funds and awareness on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Association.
New York State Senator Patty Ritchie recently presented 65 teachers from across Oswego, Jefferson and St. Lawrence counties with a Golden Apple Award for Teaching Excellence for their efforts to encourage students to succeed.
The Fulton City School District is still accepting registrations for the Universal Pre-Kindergarten program, which aims to provide children with the foundation for future school success by developing skills in literacy and numeracy.
As part of the program’s firefighting module, students learn about safety gear, fire safety practices, fire rescue, and essential first responder skills and techniques. The ERTC-coordinated training exercise gave the students an opportunity to put their classroom skills into action.
Pulaski School District voters will go to the polls to vote on a revised capital building project on June 24. After the defeat of a project proposal in March, the board of education reviewed and revised the project for a new vote.
The Nursing Assistant program combines classroom theory with work-based learning opportunities to provide students with the skills needed to obtain the New York State Nurse Aide Certification.
Two of the newcomers, Doug Schneider and Leah Mullen, are slated to play the lead roles of Shrek and Princess Fiona. The pair are appearing for the first time with Oswego Children’s Theater however, they are no strangers to the stage as both have appeared in a number of productions.
The year-end ceremony recognized nearly 80 students who completed one year of study in the OCB New Vision Allied Health, Law and Government, and Specialized Careers programs. Each offering provided high school seniors with a chance to explore different career fields, with classroom learning coupled with twice-weekly rotations at various sites across the county.
Students in teacher Joshua Osborne’s class at Granby Elementary recently studied a unit on animal responses. Students observed live lobsters and crayfish and made predictions on which was the fastest, based on their size and health.
