Oswego Superintendent of Schools Explains The Budget Process

Financial plans for public schools are built on a delicate balance between reasonable expenditures, and revenue from state aid and taxes. In finding balance with the proposed budget for the 2014-2015 school year, the district leaders and members of the board of education have worked diligently to craft a spending plan that is efficient yet supportive of our educational mission. Over the next several weeks, as your superintendent of schools, I will be presenting the budget to various groups and answering questions to inform our community of the budget proposal.

“New York in the World,” a documentary produced by SUNY Oswego-based WRVO Public Media, has won a 2014 regional Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio Television Digital News Association. Virtue of the Month awards presented to Fairgrieve students

There were plenty of reasons to celebrate at Fairgrieve Elementary School on Thursday as 22 students earned recognition for their good behavior and the glee club performed a song. During the school’s Morning Express program the fourth-grade glee club sang “From the Inside Out,” which underscored the importance of self-control, April’s Virtue of the Month.
