The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Junior High School has announced its honor roll for the second marking period of the 2013-2014 academic year.
On Valentine’s Day, kindergarteners at Lura M. Sharp Elementary attended a royal ball in their gymnasium. The ball was a culminating activity for their unit on King’s and Queens. In the unit, kindergarteners learned about tradition and objects used by royalty. Each student came to the ball with a crown.
State Police in Pulaski are investigating a crash that occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m. Feb. 18, on County Route 41 in the town of Richland. The trooper, a seven-year veteran of the State Police and assigned to the Pulaski Barracks was transported to Pulaski Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. The other driver and her passenger were not injured in the crash.
Nearly 60 budding scientists in the school’s three fourth grade classes lined the gymnasium with projects focusing on weather-related phenomena to the solar system and everything in between.
MaxMan Reptile Rescue visited fourth graders at Lanigan recently to present, promote and educate about reptiles. Presenter and founder of Maxman Reptile Rescue, Diana Sleiertin spoke to students about the lifecycles of reptiles, as well as common reptile adaptations.
The Oswego High boys’ hockey team squares off in Section III semifinal action at 7 tonight (Feb. 18) at Fort Ontario in a game with Skaneateles.
At the regularly scheduled monthly meeting on February 17, the City of Fulton Republican Committee unanimously voted to endorse Republican Congressional candidate John Katco. Katco is running for the 24th Congressional District seat currently held by Democrat incumbant Dan Maffei.
The weather may be keeping some people indoors. But, at St. Francis Commons the weather hasn’t stopped residents there from getting plenty of exercise. Thanks to a partnership with SUNY Oswego, Amanda Shultz, a senior majoring in Wellness Management is completing an internship at the assisted living residence which focuses on keeping seniors active and healthy.
