The entire student body united in the auditorium to sing “You Can Count on Me” prior to Interim Principal Michael Egan recognizing one student from each classroom for exemplifying the character trait of gratitude. In addition to the classroom role models, 22 students were awarded certificates for being “On A Roll” models.
The Oswego County District Attorney’s Office has been awarded $11,708 in state funds to help local law enforcement agencies purchase equipment for video recording of statements. The project is overseen by the state Division of Criminal Justice Services and is intended to help law enforcement efforts and prosecution outcomes by videotaping interviews and interrogations.
Each month, Recognizing Oswego County uses this recognition effort as a platform for emphasizing the wonderful work that is happening in Oswego County to promote the health and wellness of children, families and adults. The theme for November was family role modeling/mentoring/peer support.
Dr. Alfred Frederick, distinguished service professor in SUNY Oswego’s curriculum and instruction department, participated in the State Conference on Education in the State of Piaui, Brazil. The forum is a component of Brazil’s National Curriculum Reform Project, involving national mobilization for the discussion of public policies on education leading to the construction of decennial education plans for municipalities, states and the country.
On Thanksgiving morning, Masonic War Veterans Post 43 visited the VA Hospital in Syracuse to present gift baskets filled with special items of treats and needed items of hats, mittens and hand-knitted or crocheted lap blankets along with socks, gloves, sundries, T-shirts, and more to approximately 130 male and female patients, all who have served our country.

On October 30, members of the city of Fulton’s Tree Committee planted four trees along West Fourth Street in front of the city’s west-side water tower as part of their 2013 commitment to beautify our neighborhoods, city parks, waterways and main street corridors.
After several years working in the customer service field, Kelly Trejo found herself out of work. With funding assistance through a Workforce Investment Act training scholarship, Kelly completed the pharmacy technician program at OCM BOCES in August 2013. Through her hard work and perseverance, Kelly is not only a successful graduate, but is currently employed full-time at Wayne Drug in Oswego.
