Halloween came early at the Kingsford Park Elementary School as the annual “Spooktacular” was held. Students donned their Halloween costumes and spent an evening trekking throughout the building enjoying books.

With the turning back of the clocks this Sunday, the Oswego Fire Department would like to remind area residents to also change the batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
After 15 months of construction, Rice Creek Field Station at SUNY Oswego opened its gates to students and the community in late August. The newly designed, energy-efficient facility is a beautiful site and now is the perfect time to visit with the fall foliage in the background.

The “Graphic Flash” exhibition, following last year’s successful debut, will open with a reception from 4 to 5:20 p.m. Nov. 8 in the Penfield Library lobby. At 6:30 p.m. Nov. 12, readings will take place in the Campus Center auditorium as illustrations project on-screen. The exhibition will run through Dec. 7 in the library.
On November 7 at 1 p.m. in the Education Center second floor Curriculum Room a public hearing will be conducted in relation to the proposed Renaissance Charter School, which has been applied for within the boundaries of the Oswego City School District.
State Police in Pulaski arrested 34 year-old John R. Minckler Jr., from 234 Beach Road in Cleveland, NY on the following charges:
• Predatory Sexual Assault against a Child
• Criminal Mischief 3rd
• Reckless Endangerment
• Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer
Record setting performances continue for the Lady Bucs swim team while the volleyball teams captured league titles and host sectional play this week. The varsity football team captured its third consecutive victory and other Oswego teams were also in action.
