Fulton Community Theater presents Broadway’s Golden Age of music
The familiar sounds of some of the greatest songs of all time will fill the air as the Fulton Community Theatre takes to the stage with its latest production in the popular “An Evening on Broadway” series, “The Golden Age of Broadway: The Music of Porter, Kern, Gershwin, Cohan, Berlin and Rodgers & Hart.” Under the direction of Kathy DeGolyer “The Golden Age of Broadway” will be performed June 21, 22, 23 and June 28, 29, 30 in Jubilee Hall at Holy Trinity Parish, 309 Buffalo St.

Cayuga CC nursing graduates recognized for their academic success
During the 38th Annual Professional Advancement and Pinning Ceremony in May, Cayuga Community College honored 34 graduates of the A.A.S. nursing program and presented Commencement awards to 15 graduates.

Granby Elementary School Spring Concert
The grass is green, the flowers are in bloom and music is in the air at Granby Elementary School. The school hosted the final concert of the 2012-13 school year on Wednesday.

Sandy Creek and Lacona Residents Need to Boil Water Due to Water Main Break
Residents of the villages of Sandy Creek and Lacona are being advised by the Oswego County Health Department to boil all water used for drinking and cooking due to a water main break in the municipal water system. This order will be in effect until at least Tuesday, June 11.

Calling All Writers In Fulton
On behalf of the Fulton Public Library, Betty Maute recently applied for, and received a New York State grant for the training of poets and writers. The participants will be trained by attending a series of classes, to be held at the library and taught by Jim and others skilled in writing prose and poetry.

Holocaust survivor shares message of hope, courage and compassion with Fulton sixth graders
Marion Blumenthal Lazan, a Holocaust survivor and author of the book “Four Perfect Pebbles,” was a recent visitor in the Fulton City School District where she shared her personal story of hope, courage and compassion with sixth grade students in the district. “By listening,” she said, “I hope you prevent our past from becoming your future.”

Shineman Foundation Promotes Neighborhood Revitalization Through $45,000 Grant To Oswego Renaissance Organization
The grant will support ORA’s community development initiatives, beginning with the engagement of neighborhood planning firm, CZB (www.czb.org). ORA will work with CZB over the next nine months to collect data and engage the community in a thorough examination of Oswego’s strengths and opportunities.
