There is a website, paththroughhistory.ny.gov, so people can plan day trips and/or weekend getaways that explore the history and culture of New York State. By exploring the Paths visitors can experience a Revolutionary War battle, discover some of the state’s and nation’s greatest natural wonders or relive some of sports greatest moments.

GRB Students Honored for Academic League Championship

Students at G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton have reason to celebrate. For the fifth time in the history of the Oswego County Academic Youth (OCAY) League, the school clinched the title of overall champion. OCAY League was organized in 1997 with the idea that academics merit a standing comparable to athletics.

Ritchie, State Officials Join To Boost Motorcycle Safety

Beginning this weekend, the Thruway will use its electronic Variable Message Signs to increase driver awareness. Senator Ritchie had asked for the state Thruway Authority’s help in the wake of a series of horrific motorcycle crashes that claimed the lives of a number of local bikers. From June 1 to 8, the Thruway will flash the messages, “Watch for Motorcycles” and “Share the Road” on signs boards across its system.

Residents created an impromptu art gallery at their residence to display a wide variety of works they created. Arts and crafts included works in a variety of mediums including watercolor paintings, decorative wreaths, acrylic paintings, completed jigsaw puzzles, photography, handmade dolls and quilts, to name only a few.

Titled “Fight and Flight,” the fourth and final Oswego County Academic Youth League competition was set in an historic venue. Located at Oswego’s historic Fort Ontario, the competition featured two main tasks, each executed in two different ways.
