The emotional ceremony provided students and faculty with an opportunity to celebrate their patriotism and pay special tribute to nearly 50 local veterans who served or are currently serving in our country’s armed forces.

Prior to regular voting action, the members of the board recognized the service of veteran Oswego High School Social Studies teacher Patricia Runeari. She has served the educational needs of Oswego’s students for nearly three decades. The board accepted her retirement which will be effective on January 28, 2013.
The students in Janet McKnight’s classroom at Oswego County BOCES participated in a classroom project where they observed all four stages of a Monarch butterfly’s lifecycle – egg, caterpillar or larva, chrysalis or pupa, and imago or adult.
G. Ray Bodley High School’s newest booster group, The Friends of Quirk’s Players, will be sponsoring a spaghetti dinner on November 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Fulton Polish Home.
