Granby Elementary School wrapped up the first quarter of the 2012-13 school year with a celebration to recognize positive behavior.

Preparations are under way for the annual holiday bazaar at the Bowen’s Corners United Methodist Church to be held Friday and Saturday. The event will feature crafts, a bake sale and candy sale, and a luncheon, which will be served throughout the day. Bazaar hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

The Hannibal Senior Band will be presenting a Holiday Kaleidoscope Concert on Tuesday, December 11 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Lockwood Auditorium.  Prior to the concert band members will serve their annual complimentary Lasagna Holiday Dinner for local senior citizens in the High School cafeteria beginning at 6pm.

There is a special moment the first time someone uses a ramp to enter his or her home independently. Sometimes, the moment is full of laughter. Sometimes, there are tears of joy.

Career and Technical Education students enrolled in the Cosmetology program at Oswego County BOCES stepped away from their classroom for the day to visit three beauty supply and equipment industries in the Central New York area.

Third grade student Jillian Crandall was the Granby Elementary School first quarter “It’s Cool 2B in School” prize winner.

Lights will be sold for $5 each and can be dedicated to a friend or family member, both living and deceased, a service member or anyone you would like to remember at this special time of the year.

The breakfast marked the end of the first quarter of the 2012-13 school year and recognized students for their outstanding attendance rate of at least 95% while also celebrating their commitment to academics

Kathy Flaherty, a representative from the financial aid office at the State University of New York at Oswego will present information about the types and sources of financial aid available to undergraduate students and familiarize attendees with the federal and state forms needed to apply.
