The annual Oswego “Pageant of Champions” usually brings thousands of marching band fanatics to town and when the first band steps off the line at 6 p.m. a full house is expected to be involved in every move and note.

Tresidder calls on Ritchie to halt spending tax dollars for political mailings

New York State 48th District Senate candidate Amy Tresidder is making a public plea to Senator Patty Ritchie to stop spending tax dollars on veiled campaign literature.
Tresidder said that Ritchie has been using taxpayer money to send out literature that does nothing more than promote her re-election campaign.

FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant Achieves Record Performance

Early this morning (Sept. 16), control room operators removed Entergy’s James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant from service to begin its 20th refueling and maintenance outage after generating electricity safely for 700 consecutive days. This marks the second consecutive time FitzPatrick has operated “breaker-to-breaker” (operating from one refueling outage to the next without needing to take the plant offline in between).

Fulton man arrested on rape charges

On August 31, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children contacted the New York State Police Internet Crimes Against Children’s Task Force regarding a possible on-line enticement case that occurred in the Oswego County area. A joint investigation by the NYSP Computer Crime Unit and members of the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Pulaski identified a 15-year-old victim.
