Parish Tax Collector Receives Commendation

Gloria R. White was guest of honor at the recent community dinner sponsored by the Greater Parish Chamber of Commerce. She received a commendation from County Legislature Chairman Barry Leemann thanking her for 23 years as tax collector for the Town of Parish and a lifetime of community service. Mrs. White was born in Pulaski in 1919 and moved to Parish as a young girl. She has been involved in numerous volunteer and community organizations throughout her life.  Mrs. White also received a commendation from Town Supervisor Steve Stelmashuck and the Town of Parish.Gloria R. White was guest of honor at the recent community dinner sponsored by the Greater Parish Chamber of Commerce.

Officials Push for Federal Funds to Fight Crystal Meth

Agencies Seek Federal Funds to Fight Spread of Meth – Oswego County Sheriff Reuel Todd (at podium) and Sen. Charles Schumer spoke to reporters at a recent news conference about the dangers of methamphetamine or “crystal meth.” Sen. Schumer is asking for federal funding to help law enforcement agencies stop the manufacture and use of meth in Oswego County.Following several methamphetamine-related arrests in recent weeks, Oswego County law enforcement officials have joined with U.S. Senator Charles Schumer in a push to bring federal funds to fight the spread of meth labs in the area.

Santa Visits the Children’s Room of the Oswego Public Library

There will be a special visit from Santa on Saturday, December 10th at 1:30 PM in the Children's Room atop the Oswego Public Library.  Atop means taking the elevator to UL for Upper Level or walking up the stairs by the history quilt.  Join the Library for stories, crafts, cookies, and punch.  Bring your camera if you would like to take a photo with Santa.There will be a special visit from Santa on Saturday, December 10th at 1:30 PM in the Children’s Room atop the Oswego Public Library.
