Xavier Balcom, Toddler at Discovery Day Care is digging in the sand and putting the sand in the dump truck. Xavier is also moving the wheel burrow with waffle blocks to a location where he can build a road for his dump truck to unload the sand.

Two members of the Oswego Lakettes Synchronized Swim team, Calinda Ceterski and Caitlyn McAfee, participated in the 2011 East Zone Silver Clinic with other swimmers from around the North East.

The team marched to historic success in April 2011 when they ranked 5th Best Drill Team during a national competition in Florida. The 30-member team won five overall meet titles and 44 trophies in 2011.

 Classrooms demonstrating responsible, respectful, and safe behavior in the cafeteria, the playground and in the hallway were awarded with Golden Awards. Students were also acknowledged by bus drivers and received Golden Key awards.

Volunteers and members of the Central Square Library would like to congratulate Hugh White on winning the North Country Library System (NCLS) “Trustee of the Year” award during the NCLS annual meeting on October 1. The public is invited to attend a reception for him on  Dec.5 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Central Square Library, 637 South Main Street, Central Square.

The Oswego County Legislature’s Community and Consumer Affairs Committee presents Charles Fadden with a certificate of appreciation for his 25 years of service.

Five SUNY Oswego students showed off their computer science skills and business savvy in early November in a business-startup competition that brought competitors from 10 Central New York colleges together with business professionals to harness entrepreneurial drive throughout the region.
