Legislature Marks ‘Home for the Holidays’ Month

The Oswego County Humane Society has joined with several area animal welfare organizations to sponsor the annual “Home 4 the Holidays” pet adoption campaign.  Partners include Harbor Hounds Greyhound Rescue, Paws Across Oswego County, United Friends of Homeless Animals, New York Citizens Against Puppy Mills, and Oswego County Guinea Pig Rescue. The groups are working together to promote the adoption of homeless pets in Oswego County. County Legislature Vice Chairman Arthur Ospelt (left) recently presented the proclamation to Dan Capella, secretary of the board of directors of the Oswego County Humane Society. Fulton Speed Demons Senior Swimmers of the WeekThe Fulton YMCA Speed Demons won their first meet of the swim season recently against the Oneida Dolphins.

During the meet, several Fulton swimmers qualified to compete in the New York YMCA State meet to be held in March 2012.

SUNY Oswego Students to Exhibit ‘Exhilarating’ Ceramics

Jeremy Blackburn, a SUNY Oswego graduate student in art education, prepares a work for submission to a ceramics exhibition called "It's Not What You Think!" that will take place Dec. 9 through Jan. 28 at Oswego State Downtown, corner of West First and Bridge streets. Blackburn is one of 13 students of Roxanne Jackson, assistant professor of art, whose works will be on display.Roxanne Jackson, assistant professor of art, said the display will feature the “exhilarating and cutting edge” artwork of 13 of her intermediate and and advanced student ceramists.
