The Oswego County Legislature’s Health and Human Services Committee presented a proclamation to Diane Zeller, program coordinator of Literacy Volunteers of Oswego County, designating September as Literacy Month. Emerging Technology Tax Credits Renewed

During the legislative session, I was happy to vote in favor of the extension of what is known as “qualified emerging technology credits.” This is the type of tax breaks we need at the state level that encourages job growth and helps make it easier for manufacturers to hire.

Pineville Bridge Construction Continues This Fall

Construction on the Pineville Bridge on county Route 48 continues this fall. Much of the work left to be completed is on the bridge above the river and will not effect the area’s busiest fishing season. The new bridge is expected to be finished and open to the public at the end of October.Construction on the county Route 48 bridge, otherwise known as Pineville Bridge, is ongoing and nearing completion.  The 100-year-old bridge that formerly crossed the Salmon River in the town of Albion was removed in September of last year to prepare for its replacement.

Parish Elementary School Holds Annual Back-to-School Picnic

Kindergarten student Gavin Webb enjoyed the Parish Elementary School’s annual picnic with his family. The annual picnic served up hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, watermelon and much more. The event is sponsored by the Parent Teacher Association.It wouldn’t be fall without the Annual Parish Elementary School Picnic. The school year’s rite of passage marks a time when families re-connect with each other as they embark on a new school year in the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown School District.
