The New Vision Allied Health program at the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation has expanded to more than 45 rotation sites this year for student learning. For seniors in high school, students in the program have the opportunity to visit each rotation site throughout the year and gain exposure to a wide variety of healthcare settings while shadowing the job.

Globally, 1 in every 700 children is born with a cleft lip and/or palate. Clefts are the leading birth defect in many developing countries and over the past 18 years, Smile Train, the world’s largest cleft organization, has been able to provide free cleft repair surgery and comprehensive cleft care to more than one million children worldwide – currently under SUNY Oswego alumna Susannah Melchior Schaefer’s leadership.

The Pulaski Historical Society will present the next Fall evening program of this season on November 15 at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Carriage House, and is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Hosts will be Jim and Barb Gayne.

As a graduate of the Hannibal Central School District, local business owner and community supporter Jack Hess recently showed his purple pride with a generous donation to the modified and varsity cross-country teams. Hess owns the Hannibal Pharmacy and provided the school cross-country teams with more than just moral support this season.

An effort is under way to collect 999 pairs of boots, sneakers and shoes throughout Oswego County from Nov 5 through Dec 3. The footwear will be repaired and reconditioned before being delivered to the Rescue Mission in Syracuse. The shoes will be distributed to various charities throughout New York State to those in need.
