For Volney sixth graders, the introduction to rocketry began with three Newton’s Laws of Motion: objects at rest will stay at rest, and objects in motion will stay in motion in a straight line unless acted upon by an unbalanced force; force is equal to mass times execration; and for every action there is an opposite and equal reaction.
“We are working with the New York State Thruway Authority as a retailer in the E-ZPass On-the-Go Program,” the county clerk said. “This provides us an opportunity to better serve our customers by saving them time and money before they get on the road. People can get an E-ZPass quickly and efficiently without having to wait in line to fill out an application or to receive tags in the mail. Once they buy and register the device, they can begin using it immediately.”

Many of our Armed Forces members, including Fort Drum soldiers, will be spending the holidays on out-of-state military installations, overseas, or in a military or veterans’ hospital.
The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau in collaboration with Oswego Kiwanis Club will sponsor a Christmas craft show from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 3, at the Oswego YMCA Armory. Organizers are accepting applications for crafters. 6- by 6-foot spaces are available for $30.
Mexico High School’s Class of 2021 stole the show during the annual Homecoming Parade, as the freshmen dressed up in jeans and flannel shirts and threw a country ho-down, complete with line dancing and farm animals.
A pancake breakfast will be held Oct. 22 from 8 – 11:30 a.m. at the Oswego Elks Lodge, 132 W. Fifth St., to support the Oswego County Children’s Fund. The Oswego County Children’s Fund provides Christmas gifts to children in need throughout Oswego County during the holiday season.
Samantha Burnett, from Oswego, is now a member of the class of 2021 at Loyola University Maryland. As first-year students embark on their college experience, they will all take part in Loyola’s living learning program, Messina.
The Fulton Sunrise Rotary will serve its 13th Annual Italian Dinner October 22 at the Fulton Polish Home. The menu includes pasta with meatballs, salad, roll and dessert.
It takes several people to help a community remain safe and prosperous. That is what Fairgrieve Elementary School second grade students took away from attending a recent Community Day discussion where a hairdresser, physical therapist, factory worker, police officer and firefighters spoke about their roles and responsibilities in creating a community.
