Oswego City School to Celebrate International Walk to School Day October 4th

Charles E. Riley School, Oswego County Health Department, Oswego Fire and Police departments, Oswego County Traffic Safety Board and Tobacco Free CNY in Oswego will join schools from around the world to celebrate International Walk to School Day on October 4. Approximately 50 students from Riley will be walking and rolling to school Wednesday along with parents, teachers and community leaders.

Reality Check of Oswego, Cayuga and Onondaga Counties to Host Youth Leadership Training Program

On October 7, Reality Check of Onondaga, Cayuga and Oswego counties will offer students ages 13 – 18 the opportunity to become Reality Check Youth Leaders. Reality Check is a youth led movement to expose the tobacco industry’s manipulative marketing practices. The Youth Leadership course is an experienced-based learning opportunity that will give students the skills necessary to become informed leaders of their generation, as well as of their future.

Oswego County Historians Announce Photo Contest Winners

The Oswego County Municipal Historians recently awarded the winners of its 2017 photo contest. Eleven people submitted nearly 50 photos to the contest. Finalists were displayed at the Oswego County Fair in Sandy Creek where the public was invited to vote for their favorite picture in nine separate categories.
