FCSD’s new director of technology is taking an all-inclusive approach to technology needs of the district by including teachers, administrators, community members and most importantly: Fulton students.

G. Ray Bodley High School Principal Donna Parkhurst informed members of the Class of 2021 just one goal she has for them: for all 288 students to graduate in the next four years.

The Fulton City School District recently welcomed 25 new staff members who are eager for the 2017-18 school year to begin. During a recent two-day new staff orientation, the group was introduced to district and building administrators, with a focus on personnel, benefits, literacy and UPK, instructional coaching, technology and network administration, student support and instructional support.

Volney, Granby, Fairgrieve and Lanigan elementary schools held kindergarten orientation events to educate both the kindergarten students and their families on what to expect in their first full year of full-day class time.

Becoming acquainted with the various sources of financial assistance and understanding the processes and deadlines that will come with the application process will help families see a greater probability of receiving financial aid.

Principal Chris Leece introduced himself and other FJHS staff members to the large crowd gathered in the cafeteria before students and their families disbursed to student lockers to practice combinations, walked through their bell schedule and chatted with representatives from school and community organizations that offer support and assistance throughout the school year.

The Fulton City School District recently hosted kindergarten bus orientation events for students to meet their bus drivers, have parents or guardians accompany students on a dry run and to review important safety information.

Within all Fulton City schools, the district’s mission is to enable students to develop the knowledge and skills needed for relevant, lifelong learning and to become responsible, respectful and productive citizens. One way that can be accomplished is to ensure all students, in grades pre-kindergarten through 12, have an appropriate, safe and productive day with all of the tools and support they need.
