Mexico Summer School Program Offers Unique Learning Opportunities

The Mexico Academy & Central School District sought to educate and motive students throughout the summer months to help them carry successes and achievements to the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year. A couple hundred MACS students, from kindergartners up to high schoolers, enjoyed summer learning activities which targeted instruction, recovery of credits and/or social-emotional growth.

C’s Farm Market Pledge to Children’s Museum Campaign to Focus on Healthy Eating

The Children’s Museum of Oswego is delighted to announce that it has received a generous $10,000 gift from C’s Farm Market and Beverage Center for the Build, Play, Grow Campaign. The gift will support the fabrication of an agriculture exhibit that aims to celebrate Central New York’s main crops: apples, onions and corn.

Canal Play Debuts Friday

Rehearsals are under way for the Oswego Canal Play to be performed on Friday, August 18, at 8 p.m. on the West First Street Pier at historic Derrick Boat 8 of the H. Lee White Maritime Museum. This bicentennial one-act play was researched and written by Rick Sivers and is part of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the construction of the Erie and Oswego canals.

Porky and Buddy Pet Health – Help Prevent Canine Obesity

Don’t you just hate the word obese? I know I do. I just got back from the vet and she told me my dog Barley is “on the verge” of being considered obese. She suggested that I cut down on his food and treats (which I will do) and exercise him more. But he spends most of the day out in our fenced yard while I’m at work and I assume he gets plenty of exercise then.
