Fulton Shirts ‘N Skirts Square Dance Club is a modern western square dance club that was founded in 1954 as a social activity to promote square dancing and is still active in the square dance community today. The club has more than 50 members and dance every Friday night at the Fulton Municipal Building.
At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Kathleen Donnelly Chinchilla brought in a sample of the hats that she has crocheted for the Blessings in a Backpack program. She has completed 60 hats so far with 150 more needed for the program.
As part of the Department of Transportation’s biannual bus inspection program, the district’s vehicles were examined by state inspectors who looked for potential violations. The inspections included a review of paperwork, mechanical areas and safety measures.

New York Sea Grant and New York State Parks have partnered to educate dog owners this summer by providing copies of the Dogs and Harmful Algal Blooms fact sheet and brochure developed by New York Sea Grant at several State Parks. Harmful algal blooms, HABs, are a result of toxins produced by some cyanobacteria, also known as blue-green algae.
SUNY Oswego recently received notice of an award from the SUNY Technology Accelerator Fund to advance the commercial readiness of a novel device that will enable fast and secure transfer of wireless data. Jointly funded by the State University of New York and the Research Foundation for SUNY, the TAF investment targets critical research and development milestones — such as feasibility studies, prototyping and testing — that demonstrate an idea or innovation has commercial potential.
