Fulton’s Lions, Kiwanis, Rotary and Sunrise Rotary clubs have partnered with tournament title sponsors Eastern Shore Associates Insurance and Mass Mutual -New York State, for the ‘Swing 4 Service’ Eighth Annual Golf Classic.

In an effort to help strengthen libraries across Central and Northern New York, State Senator Patty Ritchie is announcing that she has secured $112,000 in special state funding that will enhance their services for patrons. Funds secured by Senator Ritchie will help libraries across the region make upgrades to their facilities and expand offerings for patrons.

From July 31 to August 11, the Oswego Public Library will be collecting books to put in the Little Libraries in the Oswego County area. The Little Library Houses are small, house-shaped boxes that can be found in most public parks in Oswego County. The public can take, read and share books as they wish.

Recently, the Dollar General Literacy Foundation awarded OCO Literacy Volunteers Program a $2,865 grant to support adult literacy. This local grant award is part of more than $7.5 million in grants awarded to nearly 900 schools, nonprofits and organizations across the 44 states that Dollar General serves.

This summer, AmeriCorps partnered with APW schools and Cornell University Cooperative Extension to create a summer camp program at Camp Zerbe. Zerbe is located in the town of Williamstown. The camp program begins at 8 a.m. and goes until noon every Monday through Friday.

Twenty-one adult education students graduated from the Practical Nursing program at the Center for Career and Community Education recently, a community collaborative between Cayuga Community College and the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation.

On August 10, AmeriCorps member Alyshia Hull and Snow Scholar Olivia Sheldon will be hosting a fundraiser at the Pulaski Public Library, 4917 N. Jefferson St, Pulaski.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County still has openings for its Summer Shooting Sports Rifle Program which will be held Thursdays from 6-8 p.m., beginning August 24 at North Sportsmans Club, West Monroe.
